Paspalum Grass
Best known for its salt tolerance, Paspalum can be irrigated with seawater or recycled wastewater — a major reason it dominates Mediterranean coastal projects, where diluted seawater works perfectly well on its turf. Paspalum notatum is a short cultivar that builds a thick sward even on poor, sandy soils, and it handles drought well. It's soft underfoot with a glossy finish. Compared with Bermuda or Tifsport it enters winter dormancy later — and in many subtropical regions it doesn't go dormant at all. Salt-tolerant, fed easily with seawater or recycled water, soft and bright in colour — Paspalum is the right answer for coastal turf, full stop.
